How KOTAMON Foil Cards Work

Where foil cards are mentioned, how foil achievements relate, and which drop-rate questions are still unanswered publicly.

The confirmed foil loop

The Steam store description says unopened cereal boxes can contain a super-rare foil card. Steam also lists two foil goals: A True Fan for a full foil set and The Collector for all foil cards.

That establishes foil cards as a distinct collection layer. It does not establish a percentage chance, a pity system, or a complete foil name list.

Track only what you see

  1. Open cereal boxes during normal collection runs.
  2. When the game visibly identifies a foil, mark the matching tracker entry.
  3. Keep standard and foil progress separate.
  4. Use the Steam achievement notification as the final completion result.

Avoid the three common mix-ups

Rarity is the printed R/SR/SSR label. Quality or damage belongs to an individual copy. Foil is a special variant. A card can therefore require more than one field to describe it accurately.

Keep in mindThe tracker’s foil checkbox is an observation tool; it is not a public eligibility claim.
