41 cards, the 41st card, and empty Special slots
A current Steam discussion popularized the calculation 10 × 4 + 4 Special slots = 44. The visible layout explains the question, but it does not establish that all four Special positions contain obtainable cards.
How many cards are in KOTAMON?
The current public checklist documents 41 obtainable cards: 40 base cards across four 10-card color sets, plus Kotalion as a separate Special card.
What is the 41st card in KOTAMON?
Kotalion is the 41st documented obtainable card when the 40 base cards are counted first. It is separate from the four 10-card color sets.
Does KOTAMON have 44 cards?
The current public checklist supports 40 base cards plus Kotalion, for 41 documented obtainable cards. The 44-card number is a player inference from four visible Special slots, not a confirmed shipped total.
Why are there empty Special slots in the KOTAMON binder?
The binder can show a Special position on each color tab, but an empty interface slot does not prove that a corresponding card is obtainable in the current build.
Is Kotalion the only Special card?
Kotalion is the only named Special card in the current public card list, and it has its own Steam achievement. The other visible Special positions do not currently have obtainable card names.
Will Blue, Red, and Purple get Special cards?
Not officially confirmed. Players have asked about the empty slots, but no developer reply or current public card record confirms three additional Special cards.
