Fast answer: five fragments make one card
The official GIGA patch added torn card fragments to trash. Once you have collected five fragments, take them to the glue table in the garage and assemble them into one complete card.
The assembly step is a manual positioning puzzle. Current players are asking for an automatic upgrade, but neither the official patch notes nor the reviewed current build evidence establishes an auto-assemble feature.
Card repair step by step
- Clear the active trash heap slowly and pick up each torn card fragment you find.
- Continue until the fragment counter reaches five; the official description ties one repair attempt to five pieces.
- Go to the garage work area and interact with the glue or repair table.
- Move and rotate the pieces until their torn edges and artwork align into one rectangle.
- Confirm the completed layout, then check the binder to identify the finished card and its copy quality.
If a piece will not fit
- Move pieces apart before rotating them so overlapping artwork does not hide the matching edge.
- Start with a corner or long outside edge, then build inward instead of trying to place all five at once.
- Use small rotations and compare both the torn boundary and the printed artwork.
- If input stops responding, leave the table without overwriting your only good save, reopen it, and retry the layout.
Repair, cleaning, and condition are different
| Task | What it applies to | What is supported |
|---|---|---|
| Fragment assembly | Five torn pieces found in trash | The glue-table puzzle creates a complete card. |
| Cleaning | A dirty but intact card | Use the card-cleaning interaction shown in the game. |
| Mending or copy quality | A damaged individual copy | Better condition is worth more, but no universal value formula is published. |
How many card pieces do I need in KOTAMON?
Five. The official GIGA patch says five fragments can be glued into one complete card.
Can KOTAMON repair card pieces automatically?
No current automatic repair feature is established in the reviewed sources. Steam threads asking for one are feature requests, not instructions for an existing upgrade.
Where is the card repair table?
Use the work table in the garage area where card cleaning and gluing take place.
