Mouse smoothing and FOV are now in Settings
Install the August 22 update or newer before following old configuration advice. The developer added an in-game switch for mouse smoothing and an FOV control, so external file edits are no longer the first step for either request.
| Setting | Current answer |
|---|---|
| Mouse smoothing | Can be turned off in the game settings after the August 22 update. |
| Field of view | Can be changed in the same current settings menu. |
| Mouse sensitivity | Not addressed in that official announcement; use the controls visible in your current build. |
| Resolution | The announcement does not add a resolution selector, and players continue to report only fullscreen/windowed choices. |
A safe order for camera changes
- Update and restart the game so the new controls are present.
- Open Settings and turn mouse smoothing off if you want direct camera movement.
- Adjust FOV in small increments and test it in the yard before changing anything else.
- Change one control at a time so you can tell which setting improved or worsened the feel.
Fullscreen resolution workaround
For a fixed fullscreen resolution, one Steam player reports success with Unity launch arguments. In Steam, open KOTAMON Properties, find Launch Options, and enter the example below for 2560×1440 fullscreen.
-screen-width 2560 -screen-height 1440 -screen-fullscreen 1What not to change first
The same discussion includes Windows Registry edits, but they are unnecessary for a first attempt and harder to undo safely. Use the current in-game controls and the removable Steam launch option before considering system-level changes.
Can I disable mouse smoothing in KOTAMON?
Yes. The August 22 update added a mouse-smoothing switch to the in-game settings.
Can I change KOTAMON FOV?
Yes. The same update added an FOV control in Settings.
Can I choose a windowed resolution?
No developer-published window-size control was found in the current update. A fullscreen launch option is reported to work, but a freely resizable window remains unresolved in the reviewed sources.
